Engineering Application & Overview

Grundfos SP, SP-N, and SP-R Series are submersible borehole pumps and motors designed specifically for deep well groundwater extraction, operating at depths down to 300 m in boreholes from 4 to 12 inches. The radial-flow multi-stage impeller design generates extremely high total dynamic head in a slender, vertically oriented form factor — the engineering solution of choice when surface pump suction lift limits are exceeded and deep aquifer extraction is required. The SP-R rewindable motor variant allows motor servicing without complete unit replacement, a key OPEX advantage for remote island installations in the Riau archipelago. Applications: industrial groundwater extraction for manufacturing process water at Batam Industrial Park, potable water supply on inhabited islands of Kepulauan Riau, agricultural irrigation, and dewatering of deep construction excavations at Batam infrastructure projects.
